NAGGW Trains youths and women Tailoring Skills , provides Starter Packs

The National Agency for the Great Green Wall says providing the youths and women with skills acquisition training is the major Pillar of societal development.
The Director General of the Agency Dr Yusif Maina Bukar disclosed this during the opening ceremony of training for women and youths on tailoring held at the NAGGW office in Kano.
Represented by the Director Kano Operational Office Alhaji Aminu Yahaya Isa said the training is part of the agency’s Community Development Program aimed at empowering women and youths for national development.
He said the agency selected the most vulnerable people in their operational states and train them on a certain trait so that they will be self employed and employers of labour.
Dr Yusif Maina Bukar maintained that sixty participants were selected from three states which includes Yobe, Jigawa,and Katsina, stressing that each state has twenty participants.
” the criteria we implore while selecting the participants is that we go to remote areas in the states we operate and select the vulnerable in the community , so that after being trained they can give it back to the society “
In a remark the Director Rural Development and Extension Services of the Agency Alhaji Ahmed Majidadi Bagudu said the training was geared toward ensuring that people in the rural areas were being empowered.
“” the Major objective of NAGGW is to ensure we restore the lost bio diversity, so if this people living in these areas were trained on various traits, they will reduce their attention from cutting down trees and other activities that are inimical to the environment.
He charged the participants to make adequate utilization of the opportunity, to achieve the set objectives.
