NAPTIP Northwest Zonal Command Rescues 35 Human Trafficking Victims

The national agency for the prohibition of trafficking in persons (NAPTIP),northwest Zonal command has rescued 35 victims of human trafficking.

The Northwest Zonal commander,NAPTIP Barrister Ibrahim Babale made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in Kano.

According to him, the NAPTIP Northwest Zonal office, which comprises of Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kaduna, and the Bauchi States, received 6 males and 29 females retrieved from human traffickers.

Barrister Babale pointed out that,the Nigerian police force apprehended the human traffickers, and transferred the victims to NAPTIP through the Nigerian Immigration service Kongolom International Border post,maiadua Katsina state.

The Zonal commander explained that,the victims were on their way to Europe and we’re recruited from 11 states including Ondo,lagos,Enugu,Anambra,Oyo among others.

Radio Nigeria reports that,NAPTIP northwest Zonal command had succeeded in rescueing over 1,000 victims from January to December 2021.
