Bauchi State Government has expressed commitment to building local capacity in innovations through promotion of science and technology to improve the economy
To this end, Governor Bala Muhammad has formalized partnership between the state and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure NASENI aimed at encouraging local innovations.
Receiving a delegation led by the Executive Vice Chairman of the Agency Prof. Muhammad Sani Haruna on a courtesy visit, Governor Bala Muhammad said the state cannot manage it growing population with out developing Science and Technology.
Bala Muhammad who expressed confidence that partnering with the agency would contribute in restoring the lost glory of the local industries, announced the allocation twenty hectres of land and operational vehicle to facilitate speedy actualization of the proposed Heavy Equipment and Machinery Development Institute in the state.
He commended President Muhammad Buhari for providing the agency with all the necessary supports to discharge it duty deligently.
The Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI Prof. Muhammad Sani Haruna who outlined the technological innovations of the agency to include manufacturing Agricultural Implements, power modular system and students’ online practical instrument noted that state has been enlisted among the beneficiaries of it intervention programmes.
The Executive Vice Chairman said the federal government is determined to promoting the local content, commended the Governor for his commitment.
