National Merit Award Set To Nominate Gombe Gifted Technician For National Award

The Screening Committee of the Nigerian National Merit Award has visited the Man who invented the Water-Cooking Stove, Mallam Hadi Usman, in Gombe State to solicit his nomination for the award of the Nigerian National Order of Merit Award NNOM, for the 2022, round.

Addressing the newsmen during the visit, the Chairman of the Committee, Professor Jibrin Elyakub, disclosed that, the Committee was purposely in Gombe State to interact with Hadi Usman on his gifted technician.

Professor Jibrin Elyakub, commended Hadi Usman, for his talented technician for inventing a cooking stove that uses water and air pressure to generate fire.

According to him, based on their founding, Mallam Hadi Usman has been inventing products since the 70s and 80s.

Jibrin Elyakub also applauded Gombe State Government for giving automatic appointments to Hadi Usman at Gombe State University, where the institution would also benefit from his talented and gifted technician.

While speaking to newsmen the Gifted Mallam Hadi Usman, explained that he invented a Water-Cooking Stove in response to the country’s rising cooking gas prices, urging the Federal Government to assist him to produce more water-powered cooking stoves to reduce the challenges of high prices of kerosene and cooking gas.

The 67-year-old talented technician, wants relevant institutions and agencies to support his project to enable him to produce more products to mitigate over-dependent on kerosene and cooking gas.

The Gombe Gifted Technician, also confirmed that he is known for putting together a Radio Transmitter and running a community Radio Station in Gombe.

He further explained that, because of his talented innovation and technology, he attracted global attention from the US, Germany, and other countries amid national recognition from tertiary institutions across the country.
