NBTE Commences Accreditation of 36 Courses in FPTB.

The National Board for Technical Education, NBTE has today commenced accreditation and reaccreditation of about thirty six programmes in the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi.
The Team will also conduct verification and resource inspection of facilities to pave way for a skill acquisition programme for interested youth.
Speaking to Journalists at the opening of the exercise, the Team Leader and Assistant Director in the NBTE, Mr. Fidelis Ogbonna noted that the accreditation exercise was supposed to be conducted last year but due to the CoronaVirus pandemic it was delayed till now.
Mr Ogbonna expressed satisfaction that the institution was strategic in the north east sub-region to run technical and vocational education courses as well as training.
In an address of welcome, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Architect Sanusi Waziri Gumau said of the thirty six programmes to undergo the accreditation exercise, fourteen wre new ones.
Architect Sanusi Gumau explained that the new courses include eight National Diploma and six Higher National Diploma.
He argued that the institution has the requirements needed to run the programmes as TETfund rated it the first in research development in the zone.
According to the Rector, for easy administration, the NBTE had chosen the institution to be the Zonal Office in the North East to coordinate Technical and Vocational Education in the region.
