NBTE Commences Accreditation Process For Nine BOGAA’s NID

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) is currently in Bauchi State to assess facilities and equipment in the Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy Alkaleri (BOGAA) for the kickoff of nine courses for the award of National Innovative Diplomas (NID).

The courses include, Electrical and Electronics, Telecommunication Technology, Computer Software Engineering, Automotive Mechatronics, Welding and Fabrication, Solar Technology among others.

The accreditation team swung into action shortly after its arrival at the temporary site of the institution domiciled in Bauchi.

Speaking to journalists, the leader of the NBTE accreditation team, Dr Fatima Kabir said the NBTE was mandated by law to assess both human and material resources at skilled based or Innovative Enterprise Institutions, IEIs’ disposal for certification or otherwise.

Dr Fatima Kabir who pledged not to compromise standard, commended the initiators of the academy for their foresight, saying it was long overdue and was the first of its kind in the whole northern part of the country.

The Rector of BOGAA, Dr Ahmed Sulaiman Yero said the institution was fully prepared to commence the programmes, hence the invitation of the accreditation team.

He expressed optimism that approval for the commencement of all the NID programmes would be granted.

The Rector appreciated members of the accreditation team for their commitment to come for the exercise despite preparations for Christmas holiday.
