NCWS, FOMWAN, CAN, OTHERS, URGES WOMEN TO BE AGENT OF CHANGE IN THE SOCIETY

Women have been urged to stand up for one another and be agents for change in society.
An Associate Professor with the Federal University Kashere, Dr Bertha Audu, made the statement during a one-day program organized by, Standup for women’s society in Gombe State.
Dr Bertha Audu said women have a vital role to play in the society and country at large by realizing that a woman does not have to be a political or public figure before she implements changes.
She explained that there is no better agent of change than a woman having passionate hearts that can change society as a whole.
Also speaking at the program, the representatives of National Council of Women Societies, NCWS, Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria, FOMWAN, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN International Federation of Female Lawyers, FIDA, and National Association of Women Journalist, NAWOJ, challenged women to become an agent of change that would mold the society to the positive side using the abilities they have in them.
Earlier speaking, the chairperson of Standup for women society Gombe State chapter, Mrs. Ruth Abubakar Absolom said the program was organized by Standup for women society, to inspire and drive changes in women to become world changers, stand up for others and be there for each other.
The one-day program has in attendance the representative of the commissioner of information Gombe State, Director-General Gombe Media Corporation, representatives of Radio Nigeria Jewel Fm Gombe, NTA, NCWS, FOMWAN, CAN, FIDA among others.
