NEDC takes delivery of state-of-the-art hospital equipment.

The North East Development Commission NEDC has taken delivery of equipment for the upgrade of Dental and Eye hospitals in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital. 

Managing Director of NEDC, Alhaji Mohammed Alkali made this known in an interview with newsmen shortly after inspecting some ongoing projects being executed by the Commission in Maiduguri. 

Projects inspected include doctors quarters and other expansion work at the Dental and Eye hospitals, remodelling of defunct NITEL building which will serve as the State office of the Commission and a ware house. 

Alhaji Alkali said the hospitals when completed would be a center of excellence for dental and eye care in the region. 

“as you can see, some of the facilities have started coming up, like the staff quarters and we are in the ware house, we have seen that most of the equipment we promised given them have been delivered” Alkali confirmed. 

Some of the ongoing redevelopment work at the Commission’s permanent state office at Post Office area.

The Managing Director assured that the construction work will be completed in the frst quarter of 2024, then be handed over to Borno state government to continue to provide more effective and quality services.

Speaking on the redevelopment of the state office, the Alhaji Mohammed Akali said the edifice when completed will have a staff clinic, training centre and other facilties.
