Stakeholders on salary administration in Bauchi State have conducted an emergency meeting with a view to come up with a statewide nominal roll that will restrengthen the move for ending the lingering salary problem.
To this end, they assured on uninterrupted salary disbursement and resolving all pending salary related issues from January next year.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, the Secretary to the State Government Barr. Ibrahim Kashim said the exercise would involve all the local government councils.
Ibrahim Kashim said the meeting was also aimed at evaluating the performance of the local governments in handling the financial autonomy recently granted them by Governor Bala Mohammed.
The S.S.G expressed confidence that the idea of allowing Office of the Head of Civil Service to manage salary administration would fast-track entertainment of salary complaints from affected civil servants.
Also Speaking the Head of Civil Service Alhaji Yahuza Adamu Haruna and the representative of labour union Comrade Dauda Shuaibu commended the workers for their patience and cooperation towards resolving the problem.
According to them, those responsible for compromising nominal and payroll would be easily fish out through the new system.
The meeting has in attendance the SSG, Head of Civil Service, Accountant General, Commissioners of Finance, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Budget and Economic planning as well as representative of labour union.
