NGOs Condemn Killings of Soldiers, Vigilante in Kebbi State.

A coalition of Non-governmental Organizations in Kebbi state has condemned the recent killing of soldiers and vigilante by bandits in Zuru and Kanya villages of the state.
Leader of the Coalition Garba Abubakar Fakai who condemned the act while Speaking with Radio Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi said the killing of sixty five vigilante, eighteen soldiers and an aid to the state Deputy Governor was a henious crime.
Garba Fakai who is also the Chairman of the Area Youth and Women Association for Good Governance, said the coalition calls on the federal and state governments to equip security operatives in the area withthe needed working tools to confront the bandits.
He advised the state government to embark on sensitisation campaign on the need for people to seek both western and religious knowledge especially those at the rural areas.
According to Fakai, the coalition further calls for the involvement of traditional and religious leaders in the fight against banditry and other security challenges facing the state.
The Coalition which used the medium to commend Kebbi state government for its support to security agencies also called for the provision of employment opportunities for youth in the state to keep them away from social vices.
Fakai therefore urged the public to intensify prayers for peace to prevail in the state and the country in general.
