NHIA ENGAGES STAKEHOLDERS ON THE OBJECTIVES OF THE NEWS ACT 2022.

Enrollees of the National Health Insurance Authority, NHIA have been reassured of effective and quality healthcare delivery under the new act 2022.
The Gombe State Coordinator of, the National Health Insurance Authority, Alhaji Ahmad Usman gave the assurance during a one-day interactive session with stakeholders on the objectives of the new Act 2022 which was held in Gombe.
The session aims to equip desk officers across all health facilities in Gombe State on the provisions of the new act 2022.
Alhaji Ahmad Usman said the new Act 2022 will promote, regulate and integrate health care service delivery which will strengthen the operations of the Authority thereby improving the well-being of the enrollees.
He said the Authority has already mapped out a ten-year strategic plan to further consolidate the services provided by the Authority.
According to him, the Director General of the Authority, Professor Muhammad Nasir Sambo has equipped the Authority with requisite IT components to make them technology driven by maintaining enrollees’ data.
Speaking on roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, the head of the Standards Quality Assurance department, NHIA Gombe State Office, Dr Shamsudden Malala said, the new NHIA Act has empowered them to ensure standards and quality services to enrollees as well as to checkmate the activities of Health Maintenance Organizations and Health Care Facilities thereby delivering quality health care services to the enrollees.
The new NHIA Act which was signed by President Muhammadu Buhari on 19th May 2022 seeks to promote, regulate and integrate health insurance schemes and establish universal health coverage for all Nigerians.
