In an effort to actualize the health for all agenda of President Ahmad Bola Tinubu, the National Health Insurance Authority NHIA, has entered into a partnership with the National Orientation Agency NOA, to disseminate the objectives of the scheme at the grassroots.
The Deputy Director of the Media and Public Relations Unit of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Hauwa Sambo stated this during a two-day training for field officers of NOA in Gombe on how to sensitize the public at the grassroots on the importance of enrolling on the scheme.
Hauwa Sambo said the essence of the collaboration is to take advantage of various platforms of the National Orientation Agency to sensitize and enlighten the public on the grassroots.
Speaking at the two-day training, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Dr Garba Abari said the mandate of NOA is to sensitize the public on all government policies and programmes that have a direct bearing on the people at the grassroots.
Abari represented by the Director of Human Resource Management, Mr Kehinde Ogunkuade noted that the health of all Nigerians remains the concern of the agency.
Similarly, the Gombe State Coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority Dr Ahmad Usman, expressed the willingness of the Authority to cooperate with NOA for effective sensitization of the public on the importance of National Health Insurance in Gombe State.
Dr Ahmad Usman noted that low awareness and funding have been the major challenges confronting the agency.
