Nigerian Army Promotes Abubakar Maikano to the Rank of Brigadier General.

The Vice Chancellor Al-Istikama University Sumaila Kano Professor Salisu Shehu has enjoined Officers and Men of the Nigerian Army to be God fearing while discharging their responsibilities.

Professor Salisu Shehu made the call during a reception organized in honour of Brigadier General Abubakar Suleman Maikano who was promoted to the Rank of one star General by the Nigeria Army.

He called on the celebrant to use the opportunity to assist those in need and to ensure his people are enlisted into the Nigerian Army.

“Brigadier General Maikano is a source of pride to his family, his local community, his local government, to the Bauchi Emirate, Bauchi state and the country in general is an achievement that must be celebrated.”

The Vice Chancellor charged General Abubakar Maikano to be grateful to Allah for the blessings.

The Royal father of the day Emir of Dass Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman congratulated the celebrant and wished him Allah’s guidance in his new Rank.

Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman described Brigadier General Abubakar Maikano as one the most hardworking, dedicated and generous person in the Emirate and urge him to maintain the tempo.

Earlier, the chairman of the occasion and Wazirin Tafawa Balewa Alhaji Ibrahim Musa who enrolled Brigadier General Maikano in secondary school described him as disciplined, hardworking and a sincere person since time immemorial.

In a remark, the celebrant Brigadier General Abubakar Suleman Maikano who said he was overwhelmed by people’s turnout to grace the reception, promise to use the advice given to enable him discharge his responsibilities diligently.

“Honestly when I was promoted I knew that this promotion is not only for me but the promotion is for all of us.

I actually recognize and acknowledged the prayers of all of us, it’s God that prompted us. We will continue saying Alhamdulillah for all the blessings that he give us”

General Maikano used the forum to thank the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruq Yahaya for the honour done to him and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.

He also commended Governor Bala Muhammad for executing various developmental projects in the state.

Highlights of the event were presentation of award of honour to some personalities and special prayers.
