Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors wants unity of its members.

Leaders of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers NIESV’S of Borno, Yobe branch have been charged to promote unity among members of the betterment of the profession.

The Chairman Borno, Yobe states branch Esv Bunu Mustapha Babbangida made the appeal while addressing members of the Estate Surveyors and Valuers at its 2021 annual general meeting held in Damaturu the Yobe State Capital.

The Chairman also reheated the members to ensure professionalism in their conduct to prevent abuse and serve their clients better. While commenting on the benefits of the annual meetings Bunu Mustapha pointed out that such events bring together members of the profession, decision-makers and members of the allied professions to update their professional knowledge, collaboration and synergy for improved service delivery.

“It is indeed a rare opportunity to upgrade, interact and widen our knowledge base,” Mustapha said.

Mustapha Babbangida disclosed that the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers was established by the estate surveyors and valuers registration Act of 1975 with the sole purpose of training its members in the country.

Speaking on the role of the institution Mustapha, said the Estate Surveyor and Valuer significant role both in the public and private sectors of the economy and further called members not to compromise standard at all times.

“I will like to use this opportunity to call on the chairmen and representatives of professional bodies here present to unite and collaborate so as to see that our professions and our aspiring members also benefit from all forms of support be it by government or otherwise”, Mustapha added.

Presenting a paper, tittle “The role of Estate Surveyors and Valuers in Economic Development of the Nation”, ESV Busari Maruph Adeyemi, stated that real estate consultants perform a wide range of activities in any society such as Banks, Hospitals, Sea, Airport and Schools among others.

In his goodwill message, Deputy speaker Yobe House of Assembly Hon. Mohammed Isa Bello, represented by Umar Abdullahi Bataba, called on the members to cooperate and work towards moving the institution forward.

Another highlight of the event is the presentation of awards of excellence to some of the members.
