NIPR Holds Citizens’ Summit For National Peace, Security

National President of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Delivering his address an the Citizens Summit for National Peace and Integration

Stakeholders in Security and Peace Building have advocated for a collective effort towards achieving a Sustainable Peace and National Integration.

They also called on those in position of authority to provide quality and transparent leadership to guarantee the future of citizens and the nation.

These were part of recommendations at the Citizens Summit for National Integration, Peace and Security organized by Bauchi State Chapter of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations NIPR.

Speaking at the occasion a Diplomat and former Nigerian Ambassador to Russia Ambassador Jibrin Dada Chinade said bringing government together with critical stakeholders to discuss issues of National Security would no doubt promote sustainable development in the country.

Ambassador Chinade who admitted that the country is being bedeviled by numerous challenges of tribalism, Banditry, Kidnapping, Famers-herders crises, and insurgency called on the Nigerians to be patriotic.

Also Speaking, a Communication expert and Vice Chancellor Federal University Kashere Professor Umar Pate who attributed the problem to deviant
behavior among the citizens called for attitudinal change.

On his part, the State Governor Bala Mohammed represented by Secretary to the State Government Ibraham Mohammed Kashim commended the Institute for organizing the summit and called for replication of the initiative in other states and national level.

The National President of the Institute Muktar Zubairu Sirajo said the NIPR would sustain provision of better platforms towards postering National Unity and Cohesion.

The summit drew participants from security agencies, academia, trade and labour unions, traditional and religious leaders Students and Journalists.
