NSCDC Impound 3 Truckload of Vandalise Telecom Tower, Parade 27 Suspects in Borno state.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has impounded three truckload of vandalised telecommunications tower in Chibok local government area of Borno State.
At a media briefing in Maiduguri, the State Commandant Farouq Boyi said the suspected vandals sneaked into Shiki village in Chibok local government and dismantled the mast of defunct NITEL when personnel of the Corps stormed the area after an intelligence report.
According to him, six suspects including drivers of the trucks have been arrested while the principal suspect is at large.


The Commandant disclosed that highly placed people are involved in acts of vandalism, assuring that the any person no matter how highly placed engaged in the crime would be arrested and prosecuted.
“Vandalism is an elitist crime. This people were arrested in Shiki village, Chibok local government are mere peasants trying to earn a living, the main culprits are cooling off in their rooms and offices. However, we are investing massively on intelligence gathering and that was what has brought us this far. By the grace of Almighty Allah we will continue to do more and reinforce all our strategies ” Commandant Farouq stressed.
The Command also paraded twenty seven other suspects for committing various offences including gangsterism, vandalism of armoured cables and fraud.
Farouq Boyi explained that the command arrested a syndicate who defrauded some vulnerable people including IDPs in the state the sum of over twelve million naira claiming to provide them with food vouchers.
He alerted members of the public to be wary of such fraudsters and report their activities to the nearest security outfit.
Two of the suspects, Mohammed Umar and Abdullahi Ibrahim denied the allegations, claiming that they were only arrested during mass raid by security agencies.
