NYSC DG URGE CORPS MEMBERS TO SHUN CULTISM, DRUG ABUSE.

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corp Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim says the policy of deploying corp members from their states of origin to others states is aimed at broadening their understanding of the country and its rich culture to promote friendship, peace and harmony.

The NYSC Director General stated this during the swearing in of the 2022 Bach A stream I Corp members posted to Yobe held at the Dazigau Orientation camp in Nangere local government area of Yobe state.

The Director General of the NYSC Brigadier General Shaibu Ibrahim represented by the Yobe state coordinator Hajiya Hafsat Yarima said the major objective of scheme was to promote nation unity hence the assemblage of the corp members at camps despite their diverse ethnic, religious and socio-economic background.

Brigadier Shuaibu Ibrahim also requested the corp members to participate is all camp activities, skill acquisition trainings and to distance themselves from cultism, drug abuse and other social vices.

He further urged those yet to take their COVID-19 vaccine to do so to avoid being denied access to public places.

Similar, the Director General of the NYSC commended the National Assembly for the ongoing progress regarding the legislative process to establish the NYSC trust fund.

Some of the newly posted corp members to Yobe state Aisha Adewoye from Kwara state and Sa’adatu Muhammad Aminu from Katsina said the were worried initially on their deployment to Yobe but discovered the environment to be very peaceful.

Nine hundred and forty four corp members took the oath during the ceremony.
