Out of School Children: fifty thousand children mopped up in Bauchi State.

Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB says it has mopped up fifty eight thousand out of school children in the last one year.

The Executive Chairman of the board Dr Abubakar Surunbai Sheikh Dahiru gave the indication while declaring open a five day training of Mentors and Facilitators under the Better Education Service Delivery for All BESDA project in Bauchi.

Dr Abubakar Surunbai said out of the number, thirty three thousand are boys while twenty-five thousand are girls with five hundred established learning centers across the nine participating local government areas.

He called on the participants to make maximum use of the training period so as to help towards reducing the over on million out of school children in the state.In separate goodwill messages the UBEC  Northeast Zonal Director Umar Njidda and Representative of Bauchi State Agency for Mass Education BASAME Ali Gambo said with constant mentoring and monitoring, teaching and learning activities will be developed hence the need for support towards teacher development programmes.

Earlier the BESDA Focal Officer Malam Nura Ahmad said the training is geared towards equipping the participants with knowledge towards monitoring and reporting of activities at the various learning centers to ensure successful implementation of the project.

The nine participating local government areas include Alkaleri, Bauchi, Ganjuwa, Jama’are, Itas Gadau, Misau, Gamawa, Katagum and Zaki.
