Palliative: Bauchi Gov’t Presents 350 Bags of Rice to Journalists, Media Related Unions

In continuation of the distribution of palliative in Bauchi State, the State Government has presented three hundred and fifty bags of rice to journalists and media related groups and associations across the state.
The beneficiaries include, Members of the state council of Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations NIPR, Male and Women Wings of Radio, Television, Theatre and Art Workers’ Unions RATTAWU, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN as well as Nigerian Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ.
Others are Members of the Government House Press Crew, Correspondents Chapel, the Governor’s Social Media Promoters otherwise known as Kaura Social Media Groups KSMG, Kaura Rapid Response also known as Yan Kare Muradu and Kaura Singers Association KABASIA.
Presenting the palliative on behalf of the State Government, the Special Adviser to Governor Bala Mohammed on Media and Publicity Comrade Mukhtar Gidado said the gesture was to cushion the hardship occasioned by the recent fuel subsidy removal.

Comrade Mukhtar Gidado who said the state government has recognized the contributions of journalists in promoting government’s policies and programmes expressed readiness to consider them in every initiative aimed at supporting the citizens.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the State NUJ Chairman Comrade Umar Sa’idu expressed appreciation for extending the gesture to but working and some retired journalists.
Comrade Umar Sa’idu said although the palliative would meet the growing demands of journalists, it would go along way in alleviating the current economic hardship.
