The Chairman of Canonic Construction Firm Architect Shehu Ahmed Tukur has advised Federal Government to partner registered architects to address Infrastructural deficit and building collapse in the country.
Architect Shehu Ahmed Tukur gave the advice while Speaking to Journalist during the Annual General Meeting of Nigerian Institute of Architects Nasarawa State Chapter, held in lafia the State Capital.
He said that, the Nigerian Architects possess the skills and experience to deliver quality services that will boost the nation’s environment.
The Chairman of the Construction Firm who is the representative of Nasarawa State in the Architect Registration Council of Nigeria ARCON said engaging registered Nigerian Architects can redeem Nigeria’s image and place the country among the best globally in terms of Infrastructural investment and the construction Industry.
He frowned at a situation where some Government Officials Still Preferred and Patronized their foreign Counterparts, which was not healthy for the development of the profession, the construction industry and the economy.
Architect Shehu Ahmed Tukur urged the Nigerian Institute of Architects to continue to organize seminars and workshops to educate the public and other institutions on the need to patronize only registered architects.
Architect Shehu Ahmed Tukur who was a recipient of an awarded for his contribution for “the development and promotion of Architects in Nigerian” called on registered Members in the country to always ensure quality and professionalism in carrying out their assignment
According to him, Nigerian Architects must be innovative and creative to deliver designs that meet the need of the moment.
He said Architects are leaders in the construction family must embrace technology to address present challenges.
“I therefore, call on government at all levels to partner with the Nigerian Institute of Architects to address professionalism and infrastructural deficit”.
