PDP Governors Disagree with Content of Electoral Act Amendment Bill


PDP Governors Forum has expressed dissatisfaction with the attempt to mandate all political parties to adopt only Direct Primary Election through Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

The forum has also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to deploy appropriate technology necessary to ensure votes of every Nigerian are counted and called on the National Assembly to entrench Electronic transmission of results of election in the nation’s electoral system.

These were part of the resolution reached at the forum’s meeting held in Bauchi State.

The forum implored Nigerians especially youths and women to take advantage of the ongoing registration of voters by INEC to enable them elect candidates that will save Nigeria from it’s present socioeconomic challenges.

Presenting the communique after the meeting, the chairman PDP Governors Forum and Governor of Sokoto State Aminu Waziri Tambuwal  said the forum wants federal government to collaborate with states in  addressing the scourge of unemployment among Nigerian Youths.

On the issue of insecurity, the party also said it is high time to bring the activities of bandits, kidnappers and terrorists to an end through increased use of military equipment, traditional means of conflict resolution and technology for surveillance and development of political will to flush them out.

The PDP therefore reiterated the need for the NNPC and other revenue generating agencies to abide by the constitution by remitting all the their revenue in the federation account.
