The Borno state Police Command has paraded four suspected political thugs who attacked and brutalised one Fadila Abdulrahman at her restaurant in Maiduguri.
Briefing newsmen, the Commissioner of Police Abdu Umar said the suspects arrested by the police are Bello Musa alias Al-Shabba, Nasiru Abubakar alias Mane, Mala Mohammed and Ali Shettima.
The Commissioner of Police explained that the suspects are allegedly link to Federal lawmaker, representing Jere Federal constituency, Honourable Satomi Ahmed.
According to him, the thugs physically assaulted Fadila Abdulrahman for allegedly undermining their master, Honourable Satomi on the social media platform.
CP Abdu Umar expressed concern over the recent happening in the state, stressing that Borno state Governor Babagana Zulum has directed the immediate investigation into the matter.
“This is an incident involving a lady which went viral on social media. It is a case of criminal conspiracy, criminal assault, illegal possession of arms, mischief, thuggery and theft of some political thugs”, he stated.
He assured that the suspects who are still at large will be trail, investigated and prosecuted, adding that the case will not be allowe to be buried.
Reacting, a group under the aegies of Concerned Jere Progressive Group expressed shock over the incident, described the report on social media as unsubstantiated claims and baseless.
At a media briefing, Leader of the Group, Comrade Mustapha Kwali-Kwali exonerated the Federal Lawmaker, saying some paid critics took to their social media platforms and posted the doctored clip.
