APC All Progressive Youth Forum in Bauchi state has advised politicians in the state to desist from instigating their supporters to attack personalities of opponents for the interest of peace.
The youth in their dozens are reacting against the recent suspension of the member representing Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Bogoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Barrister Yakubu Dogara from his traditional title of Jakadan Bauchi.
Leader of the Forum Comrade Umar Lauya claimed that the suspension of Barrister Yakubu Dogara from his traditional title by Bauchi emirate council was politically motivated hence the need for the emirate to reconsider the decision considering developmental projects he brought to the state.
“…this press conference is necessitated to tell you and the world that Dogara as the man of integrity, honesty and trust only opposition parties and enemies of progress who don’t have the state and the country at heart that are attacking him base on sentiments and shellfish interest” he said.
Comrade Umar Lauya explained that the forum was behind Barrister Yakubu Dogara in his political career and the struggle to emancipate the state from all forms of youth restiveness and social vices as well as empowerment programmes among youth and women groups.
He called on people of the state to ensure election of people of proven integrity, tested and trusted as well as those with good track records in the next elections to take the state to the greater height.
“…we call on all political parties executives and delegates at all levels to ensure mandates were given to people of proven integrity, tested and trusted as well as who have good track records” he noted.
The leader of the Forum used the occasion to call on the youth in the state to avoid being used as political thugs and agents of destruction but instead engage in useful ventures to become productive members of the society.
The youth used the occasion to stage a peaceful protest holding placards with various inscriptions in support of Barrister Yakubu Dogara and the need to reinstate to him his traditional title of Jakadan Bauchi.
