President Buhari: Insurgency and terrorism end in sight as military takes delivery of more hardware.

President Muhammadu Buhari says the fight against insurgency and terrorism will be reinvigorated with the delivery of military hardware recently procured by his administration.

The President stated this while delivering an address at the inauguration of Muhammadu Indimi Centre for Distance Learning and International Conference Centre at University of Maiduguri.

Correspondent Dauda Iliya reports that before inaugurating the ultra-modern Complex, President Buhari commissioned Tijani Bolori memorial school, custom flyover as well a ten kilometre dualised Maiduguri-Gamborun Ngala highway. 

This is the second time in six months that President Muhammadu Buhari is visiting Maiduguri the Borno state capital to assess the security situation and inaugurate projects executed by Borno state government under Professor  Babagana Zulum and a philanthropist Dr Muhammadu Indimi. 

President Buhari said he is aware of the successes recorded in the fight against insurgency in the northeast region and the drawbacks experienced in north western part of the country. 

He promised to deal decisively with criminals unleashing terror on innocent members of the public.

The President remarked that the country is endowed with alot of human and natural resources, calling on youths to actively participate in the governance process and moving the nation forward. 

On oil exploration in the north, President Buhari explained that more pipelines are being laid across the region to balance the politics of oil.

Borno state Governor Babagana Zulum appreciated the President for approving the construction of gas plant and expanding farming activities in the state.

He therefore requested the President to sustain the rebuilding of infrastructure destroyed by more than decade-long insurgency. 

Elder statesman, Dr Muhammadu Indimi who build and donated the e-learning centre said he is committed to changing the fortunes of education in region despite not opportune to attend formal education. 

Vice Chancellor University of Maiduguri Professor Aliyu Shugaba commended the President for approving over two billion naira for the fortification of perimeter fencing and security gadgets in the institution.
