President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed the commitment of his administration towards boosting the country’s economy through the provision of infrastructure and job creation.
He stated this at the formal Commissioning of section three of Kano -Maiduguri dualization Road Project, connecting Azare in Bauchi and Potiskum in Yobe state
Inaugurating the over one hundred kilometers project President Buhari said the roads will create economic opportunities and boost enhance commercial activities in the benefiting communities.
Represented by the state minister for commerce, trade and industry Maryam Katagum, President Buharisaid the federal government remained resolute towards improving the quality lives of Nigerians.
The Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed represented by his deputy Senator Baba Tela said the road will address transportation challenges being faced by commuters.
He stated that the move will complement his administration determination to address infrastructural gaps across the state
Also speaking, the minister of Works and Housing Baba Tunde Fashola who was represented by the Director Highway, Northeast Zone Engr. Celesting Shawulo said the contract was initially awarded at the sum of twenty nine billion naira and later reviewed to forty five billion naira due to the present economic reality.
The minister who called for proper maintenance of the road, urged the road users to drive with cussion and avoid traffic violation.
