President Muhammadu Buhari Inaugurates Erosion Control Project Bauchi

President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration is determined to champion the course of erosion control and other forms of environmental degradation across the country.

He stated this at the inauguration and formal handing over of flood and erosion control project at Jama’are local government area of Bauchi State.

The Project initiated by wife of the former Chief of Staff to the President late Abba Kyari as also was part of the federal government ecological intervention projects approved by the federal executive council in twenty nineteen.

Speaking at the occasion, President Muhammadu Buhari said the move will mitigate the challenges of flood disasters with the attendant erosion threatening farmlands, lives and properties bedeviling the town and neighboring Communities.

Represented by the minister of state for Industry,Trade and Investment Ambassador Maryam Katagum, the president expressed optimism that the intervention will change the negative narrative and ease the life of the Community.

According to the president, completion of the work will offer the Communities the opportunity to appreciate what federal government is doing in an effort towards improving the living condition of people.

The state Governor Bala Mohammed represented by his deputy Senator Baba Tela appreciated the president and office of the secretary to the government of the federation for the commitment.

He called on the benefiting communities to take ownership of the project and ensure its proper maintenance.

Speaking on behalf of the community, the chairman of the local government who described the effort as commendable, promised to protect the project against vandalism.
