A Community Development Service CDS Group under the National Youth Service Corps in Bauchi is to establish Risk Reduction Clubs in some schools across the state as part of responsibilities to curb the effect of disaster in the state.
President of the CDS Group “National Emergency Management Agency” Yusuf Isah Mazai gave the indication during a courtesy visit to the Management of Radio Nigeria Globe FM Bauchi.
The CDS Group was established to educate the public on ways to address community related emergency issues by corps members serving in the state.
To this end, the President of the group Yusuf Isah Mazai said they were at Globe FM Bauchi to seek for collaboration towards enlightening the public on ways to address emergency occurrences in a quest to enhance its activities.
He noted that creating such clubs would assist in reducing the effects of disasters among the populace and called on relevant agencies to cooperate in that direction.
Responding, the General Manger of the Station Aminu Abdullahi Gombi assured of the station’s readiness to support the CDS Group, noting that supporting such organizations that have positive impact on the populace is part of their corporate responsibilities.
He further advised them to partner with relevant agencies in order to enhance their activities.
