The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) says it is targeting over two billion naira as Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the 2022-2024 financial year.

Director-General of Radio Nigeria, Dr. Mansur Liman revealed this when the corporation appeared before the House of Representatives Committee on Finance for the 2022-2024 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) consideration.

Dr. Liman who expressed concern over the state of equipment of the corporation which affects its operation explained that out of the N2.3 billion naira projected as revenue in 2018-2019 N1.2 billion naira was realised.

He urged the House to increase Radio Nigeria’s budget to take care of its equipment need to serve the country better.

Deputy Chairman of the Committee Saidu Musa urged FRCN to look more inward to increase its revenue generation for the benefit of the country.

The committee is interfacing with government agencies to scrutinise 2022-2024 MTEF and FSP as part of the consideration process ahead of the 2022 budget presentation.
