Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, of Gombe State, has urged the Muslim faithful to use the Ramadan period and pray to Almighty Allah to overcome the current security situation and other related challenges confronting the country.
The Governor made the call when he hosted the members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, and Elders Forum, in breaking the Ramadan fast at Government House Gombe.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya maintained that Nigeria can overcome the myriad of its socio-economic and security challenges if the citizens are engaged in seeking the intervention of Almighty Allah in the affairs of the country through prayers.
The Governor revealed that the country needs the fervent prayers of all well-meaning Nigerians to overcome the current security situation and other related challenges confronting the nation.
The Governor wondered why some individuals derived pleasure in taking up arms and kidnapping their fellow human beings for ransom, saying such practice is repugnant and alien to modern civilization.
Accordingly to him, the Holy Month of Ramadan presents a unique opportunity for all Muslims to devote and seek the face of the Almighty Allah for the remission of sins repentance as well as granting of supplications no matter how impossible humans may view it to be.
The Governor assured his administration’s commitment to continue to run an open-door policy with a view to harvesting constructive ideas for the benefit of the people of the state.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman of Gombe APC Elders Forum, Jauro Abubakar Tela, thanked Governor Yahaya for honoring them with a feast during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Jauro Abubakar Tela assured Governor Inuwa Yahaya that, they are prepared to counter any movement that seeks to undermine the excellent and people-oriented projects in the state.
