Restructuring: Governnor Bala Mohammed Endorses Creation of Katagum State.

The state Governor Bala Mohammed gave the commitment while receiving delegation of the movement for creation of Katagum state in Government House Bauchi State
Represented by his Deputy Senator Baba Tela, Governnor Bala Mohammed who said creation of Katagum state was long over due explained that the request has been endorsed by the state government.

Governnor Bala Mohammed noted that already he ordered the inclusion of the agitation in the memoranda to be presented at a public hearing on constitutional amendment to be conducted in the state on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

The Leader of the movement and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Alh. Mahmud Yayale Ahmed who appealed for the Governor to be part of the struggle, maintained that creation of a state out of Bauchi is an added advantage. 

Yayale Ahmed while explaining that three Emirate Councils of Katagum, Misau and Jama’are were proposed to form a state added that series of memoranda were presented at different fora since the begging of the movement in nineteen forty one.
