Senator Ndume laments Cash Crunch Impact on Military Operations.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Army Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has expressed concern that the cash crunch is nagetively affecting troops in the frontline. 

Senator Ndume made this known at a media briefing in Maiduguri. 

He remarked that personnel deployed to different  theatres operations to fight insurgency and other forms of criminality find it difficult to access the new notes to meet up with their daily needs.

The Senator observed that during his recent visit to his constituency in southern Borno, the soldiers encounter alot of challenges due to shortage of the redesigned notes particularly in remote areas. 

He called on CBN to ensure that the needed cash is supplied to military personnel and other security agents for their operations. 

“The naira redesign is affecting the security operations negatively and it should be considered before it gets out of hand” Senator Ndume lamented. 

The lawmaker pointed out that he is not against the policy but his concern is how the redesigning of the new notes has subjected ordinary Nigerians to hardship.

He also called on the federal government to provide the needed technological infrastructure to fast track the cashless policy.
