SHB Partners IHP on Malaria Diagnosis, Treatment.

Bauchi State Specialist Hospital in collaboration with USAID funded Integrated Health Program, IHP, has established a Malaria diagnostic laboratory as part of measures to provide proper treatment.
The Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Ya’u Hameed Sulaiman stated this in an exclusive interview with Radio Nigeria in Bauchi.
Dr. Ya’u Sulaiman who said the laboratory is expected to commence operation next week, explained that apart from Malaria diagnosis, the hospital would also ensure training of staff to man the facility.
According to him, the IHP being an NGO working in the state’s health sector, deemed it necessary to broaden the capacity of the hospital through the partnership by providing laboratory equipment and other technical assistance with a view to enhancing healthcare service delivery.
He said the hospital had already secured the facility and equipment needed for the training noting that the trainees would be selected from the three Senatorial Districts in the state.
The Chief Medical Director appreciated IHP for the support and called on other Non-Governmental Organisations to support the hospital through provision of other interventions.
