SON organizes security sensitisation workshop for hotel managers in Gombe state.

Standard Organization of Nigeria, SON, Gombe state office, has organized a one day sensitisation workshop for hotel managers in Gombe state with the aim of improving their service delivery as well as being security cautious.

The state coordinator, Mr Yakzum James Danlami, made this known in an interview with Radio Nigerian jewel FM shortly after the workshop.

Mr Danlami said the sensitisation became necessary for the Organisation to help create a synergy between SON and hotel managers in the state, thereby helping them give best services to guest as well as being security cautious of their environment and their guest.

He explained that due to the thrend of insecurity bedeviling the country, hotels were used as places to perpetrate crimes and have become hideouts for criminals, which made it necessary to educate hotel managers on how to be vigilant, to know where their guest are coming from and report suspicious persons to security agencies.

The coordinator added that facility management, being equally important as the security of guest, the managers were made to understand the importance of exit doors and fire extinguishers in facilities that provides hospitality to customers.

Mr Danladi said the standard Organization of Nigeria, Gombe state office intends to make the sensitisation workshop a regular thing
in the state until a desired standard safety and security for guests is acheived.

A staff of Gombe International hotel, Mr Godwin Achi, who spoke on the workshop said it is a welcome idea as it will help them improve on their services.

Another maganer from Dakrim guest house in Gombe state also said,
they will implement what they have discussed with the standard Organization of Nigeria, to sanitize and improve their services for the growth of the state.
