Participants at the Action Plan Development Workshop in Bauchi State, have described the social inclusion approach, as a right step towards the successful implementation of the USAID funded State Accountability, Transparency and Effectiveness, State2State Activity .
They also expressed readiness to work on the three thematic areas of Basic Education, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, as well as Primary Health Care, with a view to actualising the set objectives.
Radio Nigeria North East reports that the workshop organised by the USAID State2State Activity was for the implementation of the programme for the months of July to September 2021.
The Bauchi State Chairperson of Women with Disability Integration and Development Initiative, Asma’u Yahaya who lamented the neglect of Persons With Special Needs in terms of governance and decision making process in the past, noted that things are gradually changing for the better.
Asma’u Yahaya commended Bauchi state government and USAID State2State Activity for including Persons with Special Needs in the recently inaugurated Transformation Committee.
Also Speaking, the Chairman Bauchi State Network for Civil Society Organizations, BASNEC Mr. Jinjiri John Garba expressed commitment towards the successful implementation of the USAID State2State interventions and others similar projects.
Mr. Jinjiri Garba who argued that there was huge disconnect between the government and the people, emphasized on the need for inclusion of key stakeholders to add value to governance at all levels.
Another participant and a representative of Civil Society Organization, Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim promised to play a leading role in the implementation process of the USAID Activity.
The USAID State2State Activity which focuses on Basic Education, Primary Health Care, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, is being implemented in Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Gombe and Sokoto states.
