Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB says it will sanction any Local Education Authority LEA or official that issues release for In-service without approval from the board.
The Director Quality Assurance of the board Mr Sulisma Lemuel gave the indication during the annual assessment of infrastructure as well as teaching and learning activities in schools across the state.
Mr Sulisma Lemuel who said only the board has the power to issue any circular, release or approval for staff seeking study leave, warned that the board will take drastic measure against such acts.
He expressed concern over the loaning of teachers to private schools to teach at the detriment of pupils in public schools.
According to the Director Quality Assurance of the board, pupils will undergo test to ascertain their level of reading and understanding of the curriculum being taught so as to justify government investment in the sector.
Also Speaking the Ward Head of Gokaru commended the effort of the board in ensuring effective monitoring of teaching and learning activities in schools across the state.
He called on government to come to their aid by renovating and completing some classroom blocks to guarantee the future of their children.
Schools visited included Gwaram and Gokaru primary schools all in Alkaleri local government area of Bauchi State.
