The new Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai Major General Gold Chibuisi says the Theatre will give its best shot to conclude the counter insurgency operations in the North East.
Major General Chibuisi stated this while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after taking over the affairs of the Theatre from his predecessor Major General Ibrahim Ali.
He described the war against insurgency as a serious assignment, noting that the operation is at its crucial stage.
“Is a very serious assignment we have here, alot of effort has gone in into this operation and we are at a crucial stage in our plans. So I will continue to solicit the support of all stakeholders because we are going to give our best shots and God willing we will be able to conclude this” General Chibuisi declared.
The Theatre Commander solicited the support of all the stakeholders to enable him succeed.
Earlier, the outgone Theatre Commander Major General Ibrahim Ali while addressing troops of the Joint Taskforce said in the last six months, the Theatre has conducted three major operations, Desert Sanity II, Lake Sanity II and Mountain Sanity which have significantly degraded the insurgents.
He explained that during the period, three Chibok girls and two humanitarian workers have been rescued, more than forty thousand Boko Haram surrendered including eight fighters that recently surrender with their weapons in addition to cache of arms recovered in Ukuba camp, Sambisa forest.
Highpoint of the event was the handing and taking over ceremony between the new Theatre Commander Major General Gold Chibuisi and the outgone Major General Ibrahim Ali which has been posted to Multinational Joint Taskforce MNJTF as Force Commander.
