UNIVERSITY STUDENTS APPEAL TO RELEVANT AUTHORITIES TO RESCIND TUITION FEE INCREASES.

Nigerian Universities and the relevant authorities have been called to rescind the decision regarding the recent increment in tuition fees, as that can cause a serious threat to the education of many students in the country.

This call was made by some of the students interviewed at the Federal University Kashere in Gombe state.

Many of the students have expressed their displeasure, confirming that if the increase in tuition fees continues, there will be many students who will give up their studies considering how many people are living under economic hardship.

While urging the Federal Government to take a serious look into the matter, the students also called on the National Union of Nigerian Students (NANS) to stand firm and take the necessary steps to ensure that Nigerians are not denied their constitutional rights to education.

One of the students interviewed, Zakiyya Nuhu from the international relations department, at Federal University Kashere, noted with dismay that this increment in the tuition fee will affect many students, especially those who are responsible for their studies and the parents of the less privileged, appealing to the university authorities and the Federal Government to review their actions.

It can be recalled that since the commencement of tuition fee increment by some Nigerian universities, the National Union of Nigerian Students (NANS) and relevant Associations vow to hold massive nationwide protests without stopping until the Federal Government attained their demands of reducing the tuition fees in Nigeria Universities.
