USAID Breakthrough action Nigeria: Sensitise journalists on COVID 19 Mass Vaccination exercise in Bauchi state.

Journalists in Bauchi state have been enjoined to build public confidence in the ongoing Covid 19 mass Vaccination exercise in the state.

The Head of media unit Breakthrough action Nigeria Mr Eze Eze made the appeal during a media sensitization on COVID 19 mass Vaccination in the state.

Mr Eze Eze explain that the essence of the sensitizatio was to equip journalists on their expected roles to have a successful Vaccination exercise.

” Such a campaign can not be successful without strong partnership with the media “

He used the forum to advice journalists to always verify their stories from the right source before going to press.

The Head media emphases that , the public need to be given the right information, as the vaccine is safe, effective and sensitize them on the negative perception about the Covid 19 vaccine.

” This is a very good opportunity for every Nigerian to get vaccinated, so that together we can fight the menace of COVID 19 in our country”

Mr Eze said the participants were drew from all the media house across the state.

Earlier the state Epidiomologiest mr Gandi Benjamin said the government has increase the number of Vaccination teams to have adequate coverage of the state.

Since emergence of COVID 19, Bauchi state has recorded 1,767 confirm cases and 23 death due to COVID as at November 12 2021″

Mr Gandi Benjamin explained that the National primary health care development Agency has approved booster dose, to those who took the second jabs.

It could be recalled that recently the federal government has lunched the mass Vaccination exercise to have a hard immune society.
