In commemoration of Global Hand washing Day, a drama and music presentation depicting the importance of hand hygiene and its role in preventing the spread of infectious diseases such as Covid-19, Cholera and Lassa Fever has been conducted in a popular second-hand clothes market in Bauchi metropolis.
The event which was sponsored by the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency with support from USAID Breakthrough Action Nigeria took place at the popular weekly market, C&C, featured Bauchi based Yanke-Yanke Drama Group and Shalele Music Crew.
The drama group conducted about twenty five minutes long drama on stage which centred on the message of handwashing and dangers associated with failure of practicing it.
During the event, USAID Breakthrough Action Nigeria mounted loud speakers and banners posted which attracted the attention of people who trooped into the market for their different demands.
The aim of organising the event was to create awareness on Global Handwashing Day and disseminate the message of importance of regular handwashing practice with a view to prevent people from contacting communicable diseases.
The theme for this year’s Global Hand Washing Day is “Our Future Is At Hand – Let’s move Forward Together”.
