USAID State2State Advocates Mainstreaming GESI In All Sectors

State2State Desk and Gender and Social Inclusion, GESI Officers in Bauchi state have been urged to ensure coordination and collaboration to actualize Mainstreaming GESI among three priority sectors of Basic Education, Primary Health Care and Water Sanitation and Hygiene WASH.

The quarterly meeting is supported by the Bauchi Field Office of the USAID funded State, Accountability Transparency and Effectiveness State2State Activity towards achieving good governance.

The GESI Coordinator, State2State Activity, Ms Chabiyada Eli who made the call at the 2024 first quarter meeting in Bauchi, said the objective was to assess the progress so far made in the sectors and challenges experienced with a view to improving them.

Ms Chabiyada Eli said it was also to reawaken the officers’ conscience on their roles to ensure mainstreaming Gender and Social Inclusion, conflict sensitivity and Citizens’ Budget Process.

She implored the participants to step down the knowledge acquired over the years to their colleagues and ensure judicious utilisation of the capacity buildings to achieve sustainability of all the GESI mainstreaming in all facets of life.

The GESI Coordinator, who said the world is gradually moving towards inclusive education, stressed the need fo urged the state government to ensure sustainability of all the interventions made available to it.

Some of the participant Adamu ali and Rahab Jatau who told Radio Nigeria that the meeting deliberates fruitful issues, noted the gradual change in the negative narrative around citizens participation in budget process.

They assured unconditional commitment to stepdown the knowledge garnered to their colleagues.
