We are committed to sensitizing rice millers on standard – DG SON

The Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) has reaffirmed its determination to train rice millers in kano to be standard and marketable.

The Director-General of the Agency Malam Farouk Salim stated this during a one-day sensitization workshop for rice millers on standard organization requirements for third-party milling held in kano.

He said the workshop was aimed at training rice millers on standardization and to make their products marketable within and outside the country.

Malam Farouk Salim said SON was working towards ensuring that the factories do not lose their products by using false machines while measuring the products and also to protect the customers.

“The whole essence of standardization is making the product acceptable to the market, and make it easier for the producers to produce without having any problem”

He noted that SON would provide technical support and certification to enhance the standardization of products.

Declaring the workshop opened, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje Represented by the Commissioner for works Alhaji Idris Wada sale said the sensitization training was very timely, Stressing that the Agricultural revolution achieved by the administration of President Mohammad Buhari was very Commendable.

Ali Idris Maiunguwa Kura and Shehu Musa were among the small and medium industries, they said the workshop has increased their capacity on improving standardization of products.

The workshop was attended by Small and medium industrialists, rice, millers, and other stakeholders.
