WHO HAS DONATED COMMODITIESAND SUPPLIES TO ADDRESS CHOLERA IN ADAMAWA STATE?

The commodities and supplies include; water_ jerrican, aqua tap, industrial rain bud, hand globs, ORS, face mask, and knapsack sprayer among others.
Presenting the commodities to the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, the Adamawa State Coordinator World Health Organization, Dr. Seemeh Omoleke explained that the importance of the donation was to crush the increased fatality rate of cholera outbreak in the state.

Dr. Omoleke said the outbreak has gone down to 3.0pecent and WHO intends to intervene to interrupt the cholera outbreak across Adamawa State.
He pointed out that WHO has made significant progress with the support of the government by providing funds and resources towards achieving a cholera-free State.
Receiving the items, the Adamawa State Executive Chairman primary health care development agency, Dr. Suleiman Sa’idu Bashir who was overwhelmed with the gesture, said they have been praying to get cholera out of the state.
Dr. Bashir assured WHO that they will make maximum utilization of the items and commodities.
The Adamawa State Commissioner, Ministry of Health, represented by the Director Public Health, Dr. La’ori Celine said that the cholera cases started with two, but now one thousand seven hundred cases were recorded and fifty-four morality, stressing that effort is underway to curtail the situation.
