Women in Business Forum Demands Equality in Governance, Businesses.

A Non Governmental Organization, Women in Business Forum has advocated an end to inequality against women to enable them attain their full potential in both business and governance.

The President of the Forum in Bauchi State, Mrs. Comfort Bello Aliyu gave the indication during a rally organized to mark this year’s International Women Day (IWD) with the theme Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow, held in Bauchi.

Mrs. Comfort Aliyu who is also the State Coordinator of NACCIMA Women Group (NAWOG) said women in the country have been relegated to the background in every aspect of life, hence their resolve to voice out their concerns with a view to change the narrative.

Also speaking, the Public Relations Officer of the Forum, Zainab Lawal Hassan attributed the inequality against women to inadequate support from the side of men and societal and cultural barriers where men dominate political positions and businesses.

The Forum’s Financial Secretary, Mrs. Rose Mary Umar called on government and relevant authorities to initiate policies that would provide women the opportunity to access loan facilities to develop themselves.
