YEDC commenced network upgrade to improve electricity supply in Adamawa State.

The Yola Electricity Distribution Company YEDC has commenced network upgrade to improve quality of electricity supply in Adamawa state.
The Regional Technical Officer of the company, Engineer Brah Moussa made this known during the pilot phase of the network upgrade at the Jimeta Shopping Complex in Yola
Engineer Moussa noted that the project will create an organized network in terms of appearance and boost power supply in the area.
According to him, “the main essence of this project is to upgrade our network to increase supply by bringing in a new concept through the use of retilen insulated cables for heavy network in order to give our customers better supply”.
He identified power loss as one of the challenges bedeviling electricity distribution in the country , saying that the upgrade will address such challenges and minimize losses for improved supply.
“With this upgrade, there will be less power loss, less voltage drop and our customers will by supplied with very huge and expended network”, he said.
Engineer Moussa also pointed out that the project is part of the company’s investment aimed at ensuring effective service delivery to customers.
The Regional Technical Officer said the project which is also being implemented in Taraba, Borno and Yobe states, will stabilize power voltage, through the use of cutting edge equipment.
“This is the pilot phase of the project in Adamawa. We are currently doing this investment in Taraba, Borno and Yobe states and with this, they will enjoy improved supply”.
He therefore assured the beneficiaries at the Jimeta Shopping Complex of improved power supply to enhance their businesses.
