YOBE STATE GOVERNMENT AND THE NYSC COMMISERATE WITH THE FAMILIES OF DECEASED CORPS MEMBERS.

Yobe State Government and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have commiserated with the families of the four corps members who died in a ghastly motor accident while returning to Yobe State from the recently concluded NYSC Orientation Camp in Jalingo, Taraba State.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations officer of the Yobe state office of the NYSC Mr Artu Markus.
The statement explained the the deceased corp members were relocated to Bauchi and Yobe states after completing the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Orientation Course at the Taraba state orientation camp.
Speaking during the condolence visit to the deceased families at Potiskum and Nguru LGAs of Yobe State, the leader of the delegation and Commissioner for Youth, Sports, Social and Community Development Goni Bukar Lawan described the death of the corps members as a colossal loss not only to the families but the state and the nation at large.
He said the death came calling at the time the nation was looking forward to their contributions to nation – building. He prayed for the repose of their souls and for God to grant the families the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
Also on the team, the r Director – General of the NYSC Brigadier General Shuiabu Ibrahim represented the Director North East area office of the organization Malam Baba Ladan bemoaned their death as painful and tragic happening at the time when their services towards the growth and development of the country was most needed.
“It is painful losing them at their prime when their contributions to nation – building was most needed”.
He prayed for the repose of their souls and for God to grant the families the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
The Yobe State Government donated #200,000 each to the families.
The delegation also visited the injured at the General Hospital Potiskum where directive was issued for those with critical cases to be moved to the Yobebstate teaching hospital in Damaturu immediately and that government will foot all their medical bills.
Meanwhile, the representative of the NYSC DG while addressed corps members in Potiskum and Nguru warned them against night journey due to the risk involved.
Other members of the condolence team include two directors from the ministry, Yobe State NYSC Coordinator and two other Management Staff.
