Zulum felicitate with Christian community on the occasion of Easter.

Borno state Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum has felicitated with all Christians in the State at the Easter season. 

In a statement by his spokesman, Malam Isa Gusau, also said the Governor is proud of Christians and Muslims in the State for maintaining peaceful coexistence in all the 27 Local Government Areas of the State, despite facing tough situations from Boko Haram since 2009.

The statement calls for deep and shared reflection on current realities and be grateful for some accomplishments achieved as citizens with equal stakes in the Borno project.  

“I am immensely proud of the people of Borno for the religious harmony between Christians and Muslims in families, communities, schools, all our social and political gatherings, at Government institutions, private work places, markets and other business places, in our sporting activities and other aspects of our shared existence”.

He commended traditional rulers and religious leaders in both faith, for being role models for younger ones, urging them to continue to do whatever they can to nurture and preserve the precious harmony between adherents of the two religion. 

Governor Zulum assured government’s committed to sustaining the bond of peace and work assiduously to find lasting end to the Boko Haram insurgency. 

He salutes the armed forces, troops of multinational joint task force, volunteers in the civilian JTF, hunters and vigilantes, for all the sacrifices towards finding peace in Borno. 

The Governor urge citizens never to relent, and to always take steps ahead of the insurgents in both preventive and responsive approaches.
