Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a notorious car-snatching syndicate and recovered a stolen vehicle linked to an armed robbery incident in Enugu State.
A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, say operatives acting on credible intelligence apprehended four suspects along the Doma-Lafia Road while attempting to escape with the stolen car.
According to the statement, the suspects allegedly conspired and snatched a black Toyota Venza at gunpoint during an armed carjacking operation in Enugu State.
The statement adds that through prompt intelligence gathering and inter-state collaboration, the suspects were intercepted, arrested, and the stolen vehicle was recovered along Doma-Lafia axis.
The State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Shattima Jauro Mohammed, described the arrest as a breakthrough in the fight against organised car theft and reiterated commitment to public safety.
He commended the operatives’ efforts and assured residents of the Command’s determination to combat crime and recover more stolen property linked to the syndicate.
