The presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) , in collaboration with State Action on Business Enabling Reform (SABER) project, has embarked on it’s annual nationwide town hall state engagement tour for the year 2025.
The nationwide tour is to engage with stakeholders, share experiences and propose reforms to ease businesses operations across the 36 states and the FCT.
In a presentation on ” Sub national ease of doing business report” by the project manager SABER secretariat Abuja Ms Aimeya Okpebholo mentioned that Borno state has been in the top 10 ranking states in the federation as a place where it is easiest to do business.
She added that their results are achieved through Data collection from every state via field verification visits, focus group discussion, structured interviews and through surveys or questionnaires.
In an interview, the Executve Chairman Borno Internal Revenue Service Prof. Bello Alhaji Ibrahim commended Borno State for not lagging behind in the implementation of SABER activities and intend to keep being on top.
He said doing well in SABER rankings implies alot of things for Borno in terms of employment, revenue generation,income flow and poverty alleviation.
Prof. Bello Alhaji commended Borno State government for making the state a friendly environment for small and medium businesses to thrive, by eradicating multiple taxation and making it convenient for business owners to pay taxes according to their ability.
Also the Director General Borno Investment Promotion Agency Hajiya Maryam Shehu said at the end of the program, the expected outcome is for all to be aware of Investment incentives and the ease of doing business in Borno state.
