The Kano State Executive Council has approved a total sum of over ₦14 for the execution of various developmental projects across the state.
The approval was made during the 30th Executive Council Meeting held at the Council Chamber, Kwankwasiyya City ,Kano.
Speaking while briefing journalist on the outcome of the council meeting the commissioner for information and Internal affairs Abdullahi Waiya said the approved projects includes
the Sum of over ₦11 billion form the Ministry of Works for various road construction and rehabilitation projects, including the conversion of Gaya Orphanage Home to a Female Drugs Reformatory Institute and the construction of a Standard Transit Centre in Gaya LGA.
The sum of over ₦882,Million Naira has been allocated to the Ministry of Land and Physical Planning for printing of security documents and expansion of scope of work at the Ministry.
The Sum over ₦1 Billion has been allocated to the Ministry of Health for various health projects, including renovation and rehabilitation of hospitals and supply of drugs and consumables.
Others include the sum of ₦310,000,000.00 to the Ministry of Water Resources for settlement of supply of diesel and PMS.
Ministry for Rural and Community Development, the sum ₦169,630,338.28 for rehabilitation of mini earth dams in various LGAs.
Waiya further Explained that the Council also approved a policy matter of significant fiscal relevance, ratifying the 2025 Proposed Supplementary and Amendment Budget to the tune of ₦889,277,880,957.81.
The supplementary appropriation is aimed at strengthening the capacity of the government to deliver on its core mandates and emerging obligations .
He added that government of Kano State remains fully committed to its vision of rebuilding a better Kano State.
