Bauchi Commences a 4-day Medium-Term Sector Strategy (MTSS) Workshop

In an effort to strengthen citizen-centred programmes across Bauchi State, the Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning and Multilateral Coordination is currently holding a four-day Medium-Term Sector Strategy, MTSS, workshop.

The workshop is being supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Bauchi Field Office, with the MTSS serving as a vital planning and budgeting tool targeted at fiscal discipline, resource allocation, and effective service delivery.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Jibril Mohammed Yusuf said it was focusing on generating actionable plans across the four key government sub-sectors.

Jibril Yusuf said the participants were drawn from the state’s Education, Health, Agriculture, and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, WASH, sub-sectors to design strategic programmes reflecting citizens’ needs and priorities.

He urged the participants to engage fully in technical sessions to enable the State implement its sustainability plans and align governance with global best practices.

The four-day workshop is targeted at strengthening inclusive governance and ensuring government resources are directed towards citizens-centred development initiatives across the state.
